The independence of each patient in satisfying the needs

According to the APA Dictionary, the word need means the following: "a state of tension in an organism resulting from the deprivation of something necessary for survival, well-being, or personal fulfilment, or a substance, condition, or other things (e.g., food, water, security) whose absence generates this condition, called need"

The need to be healthy is a reality, but very rarely do we realize that this need would not exist if the need to learn had been satisfied. The need to learn quickly represents the need for the human being to accumulate knowledge, attitudes and skills in order to modify behaviours or adopt new behaviours.

Throughout life, the human being must continuously adapt to environmental changes, which modify the measures necessary to be taken to maintain health. Self-knowledge is essential to prevent and analyze some of your habits so that you can verify whether you have taken the appropriate measures to maintain your health. Following this analysis, an individual may feel the need to learn the most effective means of maintaining health. Having acquired knowledge, attitudes, and skills for maintaining health, the individual acquires a sense of security through which he/she becomes able to fight against illness, anxiety and the stress of everyday life.

The factors that influence the satisfaction of the need, in general, are age, physical capabilities, psychological factors (motivation, emotions, etc.), and sociological factors (environment, economic context, etc.).

The need to learn is the first action manifested by you towards becoming independent in ensuring your own health and well-being in the following way: you express a desire to learn; you show interest in learning; you have a state of receptivity; you acquire knowledge, alone, through reading; you acquire knowledge together with others through radio, TV, courses, conferences; you acquire new attitudes, skills and changing behaviour to maintain health.

Here are some manifestations of addiction: Refusal to learn (not accepting the acquisition of new knowledge); Lack of receptivity (having no predisposition to receive advice or to allow oneself being influenced from outside); Insecurity and fear of the unknown (due to unforeseen events, the patient must face the need to change his/her lifestyle and habits to regain health. He/She ignores the measures that can be taken to regain independence); Abnormality in approaching certain actions to regain health (the patient does not give due importance to the disease, does not follow medical advice in treating illnesses or preventing illnesses); Lack of interest in learning (the patient is refractory to any action or knowledge necessary to maintain or regain health).

We support you in attaining your independence to ensure your own health and well-being!
