The independence of each patient in satisfying the need
According to the APA Dictionary, need means the following: "a state of tension in an organism resulting from the deprivation of something necessary for survival, well-being, or personal fulfilment, or a substance, condition, or other things (e.g., food, water, security) whose absence generates this condition, called need"
The need to be healthy is a reality, but very rarely do we realize that this need would not exist if the need to learn had been satisfied. The need to learn quickly represents the need for the human being to accumulate knowledge, attitudes and skills in order to modify his behaviours or adopt new behaviours.
Throughout his life, man must continuously adapt to environmental changes, which modify the measures necessary to maintain health. Self-knowledge is essential to prevent and analyze some habits so that you can check if you have taken the appropriate measures to maintain your health. Following this analysis, a man may feel the need to learn the most effective means of maintaining health. Having acquired knowledge, attitudes, and skills for maintaining health, he acquires a sense of security, through which he becomes able to fight against illness, anxiety and the stress of everyday life.
The factors that influence the satisfaction of the need, in general, are age, physical capabilities, psychological factors (motivation, emotions, etc.), and sociological factors (environment, economic context, etc.).
The need to learn is the first action manifested to be independent in ensuring your own health and well-being, thus: expressing the desire to learn; showing interest in learning; state of receptivity; acquiring knowledge, alone, through reading; acquiring knowledge together with others through radio, TV, courses, conferences; acquiring new attitudes, skills and changing behaviour to maintain health.
Here are some manifestations of addiction: Refusal to learn (not accepting the acquisition of new knowledge); Lack of receptivity (has no predisposition to receive impressions or influences from outside); Insecurity and fear of the unknown (due to unforeseen events, the patient must face the need to change his lifestyle and habits to regain health. He ignores the measures that can be taken to regain independence); Abnormality in approaching certain actions to regain health (the patient does not give due importance to the disease, does not follow medical advice in treating illnesses or preventing illnesses); Lack of interest in learning (is refractory to any action or knowledge necessary to maintain or regain health).
We support you in ensuring your independence in ensuring your own health and well-being!
